In this whale watching activity in the Marino Ballena National Park, we'll sail along the coast of Uvita, known for spotting dolphins and whales.
Activity Details
We'll meet at a strategic point in Uvita or at the entrance of Marino Ballena National Park, based on your choice. From there, we'll head to a dock to begin our cruise along the western coast of Costa Rica.
During the sail, participants will have the opportunity to see various specimens of whales and dolphins as well as different kinds of sea turtles in this rich ecosystem.
We will sail to Isla Ballena, making a stop at this uninhabited islet for snorkelling and swimming.
After swimming, we will return to the boat and continue to a new point in the marine park, which may vary depending on weather conditions. The total duration of the trip is between 3 and 3.5 hours.
Itinerary Order
For organisational reasons, the order of visits may vary.
Whale & Dolphin Watching
The coast of Uvita is ideal for seeing whales and dolphins, but animal sighting is unpredictable. The number of specimens may vary due to factors like weather and breeding seasons, especially from December to April and July to October.
Rainy Season
Please note that whales are present from July to October, which is also the rainy season; thus, visibility may be reduced and activities like swimming or snorkelling may be affected.
