Tour Details
Join the tour at the arches of the Paseo Ribeira, in front of Baiona's Tourist Office. The tour focuses on the legends of the meigas, or Galician witches, during sunset. We will explore Baiona's haunting history, including its experience with the Black Plague and the Santa Compaña procession.
We will visit the Cruceiro da Trinidade to understand the protective power of ancient stone crosses. Myths of the mouros and mouras, along with the mischievous trasnos, will also be discussed. The story of Santa Liberata, believed to be the first woman ever crucified, will be shared.
Additionally, we will cover the tale of Pedro Álvarez de Soutomaior, known as Pedro Madruga, who some suggest could be linked to Christopher Columbus. Our route includes Mount Boi near the castle of Monterreal, where a mysterious prince in an iron mask is said to have resided.
The tour lasts for 1.5 hours, concluding at the starting point.
