Description
At the scheduled time, we will meet at Pozo da Aguada to begin this private tour. The tour starts on the seafront promenade, offering views of Mount Boi and the castle of Monterreal, now a Parador de Turismo Hotel.
We will continue towards the Virgen de la Roca, a monument standing 49 feet (15 meters) tall. Following this, we will explore the house of Pedro Madruga, an important historical figure in Baiona.
The tour includes stories about the arrival of the Discovery of America news via La Pinta, one of Columbus' ships, and how the coast faced invasions by pirates like Francis Drake.
Next, we'll visit the old town of Baiona, walking through its narrow streets and seeing key buildings such as the Ex Collegiate Church of Baiona, in Romanesque-Gothic style, and the church of Santa Liberata, both significant on the Portuguese route of the Camino Santiago.
We will conclude the tour at the promenade with the statue of Alfonso IX, after two hours of sightseeing.
