Salinas del Gualicho Trip

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up in Las Grutas before heading to Salinas del Gualicho: the second largest depression in Argentina.

As soon as we arrive at these salt deposits, we will be struck by their dimensions. Located 236 feet below sea level, the salt flats cover an area of 166 square miles. We will learn about some of the 8000 uses that salt has as we explore this space.

We will visit the industrial area where salt crystals are harvested and packed, and see salt piles with up to 450,000 tons. After these visits, we will enjoy a stunning sunset over the Salinas del Gualicho.

While watching the sunset, we will be served a Creole dinner outdoors. The menu includes chicken with vegetables, bread, wine, mineral water, coffee, and dessert. After dinner, we will use telescopes and other instruments to observe the stars.

Eventually, we'll head back to Las Grutas, arriving between 10 pm and midnight, depending on the time of year.
