Visit one of the first places Christopher Columbus set foot in on his famous voyage with this Gibara Day Trip from Guardalavaca - you'll fall in love with its colonial buildings!
Gibara Day Trip
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Guardalavaca at the scheduled time and take you to Gibara, also known as the white village. In just one hour, we'll have reached our destination.
The first thing we'll see is the imposing fort of Bateria Fernando VII, built in 1817 to protect against corsair attacks. Observe its whitewashed walls that reflect Cuba's colonial past.
Next, we'll head to the historical center to visit the Natural History Museum located in Plaza de Armas. Here, we will learn about the geology, botany, and ornithology of the region while viewing the skeletons of a pilot whale and a sperm whale.
We will then proceed to the famous viewpoint of Gibara for panoramic views of the city and the Atlantic. Our next stop will be the Panadero Cave, known for its stalactites, stalagmites, and inscriptions of bakers on the walls.
To finish the tour, we'll return to the old town of Gibara for a delicious cocktail and a traditional lunch with choices including beef, chicken, pork, and seafood. We will drop you off at your hotel 8 hours after departure.
