Your journey begins with a pickup at your hotel in Guardalavaca at the designated time, followed by a brief one-hour drive to Holguin.

Upon arrival, our adventure kicks off at the Mirador de Mayabe, offering spectacular vistas of the Cuban landscape. Next, we’ll visit the renowned Orígenes Mural, a striking mural crafted from 20 tonnes of concrete, before heading to the San Isidoro Cathedral, where you can admire its colonial façade alongside its unique Arab-inspired interior.

We will then proceed to the Plaza Calixto García Íñiguez, established in 1720, where discussions about the Cuban War of Independence will take place. Following this, our exploration leads us to the La Periquera Museum, where you’ll uncover indigenous remains and contemporary artworks that have contributed to the identity of the local community. Curious about the name of this historical house? Legend has it is tied to the colours of the Spanish military uniforms.

Continuing our journey through history, we will stop at the church of San José. This basilica, which served as a defensive stronghold for the Spanish forces during Cuba’s quest for independence, is also the oldest in the city.

After this, prepare for a climb of 458 steps to the Loma de la Cruz. Here, from under a grand wooden cross, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Holguin—perfect for some memorable photographs!

We’ll conclude our excursion with a return to Guardalavaca, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel after a comprehensive six-hour experience.
