Snowshoe Trek in Banff

When making your reservation, you'll choose your preferred Banff snowshoeing tour. Both options include transport by bus or minibus, snowshoe and pole rental, and an English-speaking guide.

Trek through Paint Pots

We will meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and head west to the boundary of Kootenay National Park, about a half-hour from the city. We'll begin our 3-km (1.86-mile) snowshoe hike, enjoying the snow and scenic views of the historic Paint Pots and frozen lakes.

The Paint Pots are mineral deposits used by early settlers. A short break will allow us to enjoy hot chocolate and maple syrup candy to warm up. The route ends back at the starting point for a total of 4 hours of activity before returning to hotels in Banff.

Trek through Marble Canyon

We will meet at the Mount Royal Hotel parking lot and set out toward Kootenay National Park for a snowshoeing tour in Marble Canyon. This limestone gorge, 40 meters (131 feet) deep, has been shaped by Tokumn Creek.

While hiking, we will share fascinating facts about the natural environment and look for tracks of hares, moose, or wolves. After the hike, enjoy hot maple syrup poured into snow to make frozen candy. We'll conclude after 4 hours back at the meeting point in Banff.
