Tour of Baños de la Encina

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Tourist Office on José Luis Messía Avenue to start our guided tour of Baños de la Encina.

Our first stop will be the Muslim castle of Bury Al-Hamma (Burgalimar in Spanish) from the Caliphate period (10th century). A simple glance at its imposing façade will confirm that it's one of the best-preserved castles in Europe and the only one in Europe made of tabiyya (dry mud). We'll walk around its towers and from inside, we'll be able to admire views of the village.

During the excursion, we'll visit the church of San Mateo and the hermitage of Cristo del Llano, notable for its striking figures and decorations, recognized as one of the best examples of Andalusian rococo baroque. Mirrors embedded in the walls create a spiritual atmosphere.

Then, we will continue with a walk through the historic centre of Baños de la Encina, where we'll admire well-preserved stately houses and ancient jewels.

Finally, after 2 hours of touring, we'll conclude the tour.
