Balneario La Plaza Hiking

On this tour of Balneario La Plaza, we'll leave Barahon to enter a stunning location in the south of the Dominican Republic.

Description

We'll collect you from your hotel in Barahona at the scheduled time and proceed to Balneario La Plaza. After approximately 45 minutes, we'll arrive and receive an overview of the trail and safety measures before starting the tour. We'll walk along the riverbanks, discovering numerous blue pools.

During the first section, we'll observe the flowers and vegetation alongside the river, including possumwood and cabrima trees. Local birds, such as the cacique candela and vireo bigotudo, and other wildlife may also be seen.

After an hour, we'll reach the natural pools at Balneario La Plaza, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip at the waterfalls. If adventurous, explore the mouth of the Cañada de Deguindadero during a short break for a snack.

Following our time at La Plaza, we will return along the same path, taking in the natural beauty and wildlife once more. The tour concludes after 4 hours back at the hotels in Barahona.
