L'Aquàrium de Barcelona is a family-friendly attraction featuring over 11,000 animals from more than 450 species. The Aquarium includes an 80-metre (260-foot) long transparent underwater tunnel allowing visitors to experience marine life from the Mediterranean Sea.

As one of the most visited tourist sites in Barcelona, the Aquarium holds 5 million litres of water (1.3 million US gallons) and is home to various species, including bream, moray eels, moonfish, bull sharks, and sandbar sharks.

Visitors can explore the Mediterranean aquariums with 14 distinct spaces dedicated to different marine life found in this region. The tropical aquariums showcase vibrant fish and corals, along with recreations of protected coastal areas like the Ebro Delta and the Medes Islands.

Themed aquariums provide in-depth knowledge of underwater flora and fauna. Conclude your visit in the tropical river area, where children’s activities and permanent shellfish and mollusc exhibitions are available.

Opening Times

Barcelona Aquarium operates during the following hours:

From March 29 to June 30: open daily from 10 am to 8 pmFrom July 1 to September 7: open daily from 10 am to 9 pmFrom September 8 to October 31: open daily from 10 am to 8 pm

Final admission is an hour before closing.

Christmas schedule: from December 21 to January 8, the aquarium will close at 8 pm (final admission at 7 pm).
