Vic, Rupit & Besalú Excursion
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Barcelona between 8 and 9 am to head north towards Besalú, a medieval village known for its significant Romanesque bridge. We'll tour the historic center of Besalú, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in the province of Girona.
During our exploration of Besalú, we will visit the Jewish miqvé, the churches of San Pedro, Santa Maria and San Vicente, and the ancient pilgrims' hospital.
Afterward, we will stop at the La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. Here, we'll undertake a hiking route through its beech, oak and holm oak forests and observe the volcanoes and lava flows that characterize this region.
Next, we will proceed to Rupit, which features stone houses that have been preserved for over 400 years. You will receive one hour of free time to have lunch in one of its local restaurants.
Finally, we will visit Vic to explore its historic center, including Plaza Mayor, Casa Beuló, and Casa Tolosa.
Before returning to Barcelona, we will make a stop at the Palau dels Montcada, which features ruins of a 2nd-century Roman temple. The excursion will conclude with a return to your hotel at approximately 6 pm.
