Barichara Guided Tour

Our guided tour of Barichara features key sites including the Cathedral, Salto del Mico, the Santa Barbara church, and the traditional streets of the city. This walking tour explores the town's historic district and its rich history.

Description

At your selected time, we'll meet at the main park in Barichara to commence the walking tour of the town's iconic landmarks.

The tour begins on Calle Real, stopping at a traditional sweets shop. Next, we visit the Santa Barbara church, the first chapel in the area.

We will then proceed to the higher part of Barichara for a panoramic view of the historic center, including the iconic dome of the Cathedral. We'll discuss the history of this temple, established in the 18th century.

Our next stop is Barichara's cemetery, known for its unique tomb designs and legends. We will also visit an art workshop to learn about an ancient artistic technique.

Included in the tour is a visit to the Salto del Mico viewpoint. As we make our way back to the main park, we will pause for coffee and browse two craft stores to engage with local art.

After two and a half hours, the guided tour concludes at the starting point.
