Chicamocha Canyon Hiking Tour

Description

We'll meet at Barichara's main park and take a minibus to Villanueva, which will take about two hours. Upon arrival, we will head to Alto de Martha, the starting point for our hike through the Chicamocha Canyon.

The hike covers 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) and passes through Macaregua, Mesa de los Santos, and Aratoca, culminating at the Rancho Alegre viewpoint for a panoramic view. We will take a break here to discuss the landscape's evolution.

During the 5-hour trek, we will observe the canyon's lush vegetation, river, and local wildlife, including birds and monkeys, while encountering cobblestone paths from the colonial era. A picnic with a sandwich, fruit, and water will be provided for sustenance.

Finally, we will hike to the town of Jordan, where our minibus will be waiting. The total duration of the activity is approximately 9 hours, concluding back in Barichara.
