Experience awe-inspiring landscapes and rich history as we embark on a hiking adventure along the Camino Real toward the town of Guane. This route traces paths once used by indigenous communities and Spanish settlers.
Description
We'll meet at the selected time at Barichara's main park and head to the entrance of Móncora Biopark to begin our Camino Real hiking journey.
We will trek an 8-kilometer (5-mile) downhill path to the historic town of Guane. Along the way, appreciate the native trees lining the Camino Real de Tobares, previously vital for indigenous communities and later utilized by Spanish colonists for trade routes.
After the first leg of our hike, we will visit a pottery workshop, learning about an ancestral technique related to the Guane people. Following this visit, we will continue along the Camino Real, enjoying mountain views.
After a 4.5-hour trek, we will conclude our adventure in Guane's main park and use a tuk-tuk to return to our starting point in Barichara.
