Experience awe-inspiring landscapes and rich history as we embark on a hiking adventure along the Camino Real toward the town of Guane. This route traces paths once used by indigenous communities and Spanish settlers.
Description
We'll meet at the selected time at Barichara's main park, then proceed to the entrance of Móncora Biopark to begin our Camino Real hiking journey.
This historic trail comprises an 8-kilometer (5-mile) downhill path to the historic town of Guane. Along the way, you'll see native trees lining the Camino Real de Tobares, which was important for connecting indigenous communities and later became vital for Spanish trade routes.
After the initial segment of our hike, we will visit a pottery workshop to learn about ancestral techniques of the Guane people. Following this, we will continue along the Camino Real, enjoying mountain views.
After a 4.5-hour trek, our hiking adventure will conclude in Guane's main park. From there, we will take a tuk-tuk back to Barichara.
