At the appointed time we'll meet in front of La Casa del Carnaval to start this free tour of Barranquilla. Ready to experience life in one of the most important cities in Colombia? Off we go!

We'll begin by walking through the area known as Barrio Abajo, the epicenter of Barranquilla's popular culture. We'll see the typical colorful houses and discuss the importance and deeply-rooted tradition of Carnival in the city, recognized as Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

During the free tour, we'll admire the façades of different churches, including the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Queen Mary Cathedral. We’ll also visit the Edgard Rentería baseball stadium and the Customs House, while discussing influential figures like Gabriel García Márquez, Joe Arroyo, and Shakira.

Some stops will provide the opportunity to meet local artisans, plastic artists, dancers, cooks, and historians.
