Ciénaga Excursion

At 6 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Barranquilla and board the minibus for Ciénaga, located 70 kilometers from Barranquilla in the department of Magdalena. This town inspired Gabriel García Márquez to write 100 Years of Solitude.

During our walk through the historic streets of Ciénaga, we will discuss the town's past, particularly its economic boom in the early 20th century due to the banana industry. Key sites include Plaza del Centenario Park, the Templete, and the Church of San Juan Bautista.

Next, we will visit the Ciénaga volcano in the Cordobita region. The thermal waters are known for their medicinal properties, and you will experience this through a beneficial bath and a mud massage.

We will conclude the tour with our return to Barranquilla, arriving at approximately 3 pm.
