Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in Barranquilla at 5:30 am and set off for the western part of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta.

During our visit to this area around the municipality of Ciénaga, we will visit the mouth of the Sevilla River and spot exotic birds that inhabit the Magdalena region. The largest community of cormorants in Colombia is found here.

We will also look for the Northern screamer, an endangered bird critical to the ecosystem of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta. You will admire the variety of wildlife and the unique mangrove landscape surrounding the river estuary.

After a traditional meal, we will return to Barranquilla and arrive back at your hotel at 3:30 pm.
