Discover the Colombian town of Usiacurí, famous for its healing waters and the poet Julio Flórez, on this excursion from Barranquilla. You'll also visit the town of Galapa!

Usiacurí Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Barranquilla at 9 am and head towards the south of the department of Atlántico.

After a half-hour drive, we'll stop in the small town of Galapa, where we'll see artisans handcrafting Barranquilla's Carnival masks.

Next, we'll continue our excursion to Usiacurí, a town nestled among lush hills. There, we'll take a guided tour of its historic center, exploring its colorful streets.

During the tour, we'll learn about one of Usiacurí's notable figures: the poet Julio Flórez, who moved to this area for its medicinal waters. We'll visit the house-museum of the writer, where he died in 1923.

Before leaving, we'll pass by the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the iraca palm handicraft shops, providing an opportunity to purchase souvenirs.

We'll conclude the excursion by returning to your hotel in Barranquilla, with drop-off around 2 pm.
