Excursion to Usiacurí
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Barranquilla at 9 am, as we set off towards the southern part of Atlántico.
After approximately 30 minutes of travel, our first stop will be the quaint town of Galapa, where you’ll witness artisans skillfully creating Barranquilla's Carnival masks.
Continuing on our journey, we’ll arrive in Usiacurí, a picturesque town surrounded by stunning green hills. Here, you will enjoy a guided tour of the historic center, immersing yourself in its vibrant streets and rich history.
During the tour, you'll learn about one of Usiacurí's most notable figures: the poet Julio Flórez, who relocated to this area to benefit from its healing waters. We’ll visit the house-museum where he spent his last days before passing away in 1923.
Before concluding the visit, we'll stop by the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and explore the local shops selling exquisite iraca palm handicrafts, providing you with a chance to pick up some unique souvenirs.
We’ll complete our excursion with a return trip to your hotel in Barranquilla, arriving around 2 pm.
