Usiacurí Excursion

Discover the Colombian town of Usiacurí, famous for its healing waters and the poet Julio Flórez, on this excursion from Barranquilla. You'll also visit the town of Galapa!

Usiacurí Excursion

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Barranquilla at 9 am and head towards the south of the department of Atlántico.

After a half-hour drive, we'll stop in the small town of Galapa, where we will see artisans handcrafting Barranquilla's Carnival masks.

Next, we'll continue to Usiacurí, a town nestled among lush hills. Once there, we will take a guided tour of its historic center, exploring its colorful streets.

During the tour, we will learn about the poet Julio Flórez, who moved to Usiacurí for its medicinal waters. We will visit the house-museum of the writer, where he died in 1923.

Before leaving, we'll pass by the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the iraca palm handicraft shops, where you'll have the opportunity to buy souvenirs.

We will finish the excursion by returning to your hotel in Barranquilla, where you will be dropped off around 2 pm.
