Hongos de Tocota Private Trip

At 10 am, we will depart from your hotel in Barreal and travel by jeep to the surroundings of the Tocota River, nestled between the foothills of the Sierra del Tontal and the Andes.

In this unique location of the Argentine province of San Juan, we will visit the Hongos de Tocota (Tocota Mushrooms) rock formations. These huge sandstone rocks, shaped by erosion, resemble giant mushrooms, with most of them between 30 and 50 feet tall.

During the route through the Barreal-Rodeo depression, we will see various forms of these rock mushrooms. You will hear about the natural processes that created these structures while taking selfies next to them.

We will take a break for a delicious country lunch that will include several regional specialties. After lunch, we will return to Barreal, stopping for a light snack in the open air, enjoying the Andean landscapes of San Juan.

Finally, we will arrive back at your hotel at 7 pm.
