Hongos de Tocota Private Trip

At 10 am, we will depart from your hotel in Barreal and travel by jeep to the surroundings of the Tocota River, located between the foothills of the Sierra del Tontal and the Andes.

We will visit the Hongos de Tocota (Tocota Mushrooms) rock formations, large sandstone rocks shaped by erosion that resemble giant mushrooms, mostly ranging between 30 and 50 feet tall.

During the route through the Barreal-Rodeo depression, we will see various forms of these rock mushrooms. While taking pictures, you will learn about the natural processes that formed these structures over time.

We will take a break for a country lunch featuring several regional specialties. After lunch, we will return to Barreal, making a stop for a light snack in the open air, enjoying more stunning Andean landscapes of San Juan.

Finally, we will arrive back at your hotel at 7 pm.
