Los Morillos Reserve Private Trip
At 10 am, we will depart from your hotel in Barreal in a comfortable off-road vehicle and stop in a beautiful Andean area at the foot of the Ansilta Mountain Range.
Located there, at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet, is the beautiful Los Morrillos reserve, where we will learn about the local nature and its predominant plants. The staff of the reserve, managed by Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina, will provide insights about the species that thrive in these conditions.
We will then trek for 45 minutes to the prehistoric caves of Los Morrillos, which contain 8500-year-old cave paintings. These artworks represent the sun and animals, as well as abstract figures, which provoke various interpretations. You will hear theories related to them.
After the visit to the caves, we will return on foot to the starting point, where a picnic featuring the typical Argentinean picada will await us. Following the meal, we will explore other areas of the Andes before heading back to Barreal.
We will then return, stopping for a snack along the way, and you will be dropped off at your hotel by 6 pm.
