Los Morillos Reserve Private Trip

At 10 am, we will depart from your hotel in Barreal in a comfortable off-road vehicle and stop in an Andean area at the foot of the Ansilta Mountain Range.

Located at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet is the beautiful Los Morrillos reserve, where we will learn about the surrounding nature, predominant plants, and species thriving in these conditions, with insights from the reserve staff, managed by Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina.

We will trek for 45 minutes to the prehistoric caves of Los Morrillos, featuring cave paintings that are 8500 years old. These artworks, which include representations of the sun and animals alongside abstract figures, have inspired various interpretations. You will learn about the theories surrounding them.

After visiting the caves, we will return on foot to the starting point for a delicious picnic, including a typical Argentinean picada. Following the picnic, we will continue exploring special corners of this area of the Andes before returning to Barreal.

We then head back, stopping for a snack along the way, and drop you at your hotel at 6 pm.
