Los Morillos Reserve Private Trip
At 10 am, we will depart from your hotel in Barreal in a comfortable off-road vehicle and stop in an Andean area at the foot of the Ansilta Mountain Range.
Located at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet, the Los Morrillos reserve will provide insights into the surrounding nature. Staff from Fundación Vida Silvestre Argentina will explain the predominant plants and species thriving in these conditions.
Following this, we will trek for 45 minutes to the prehistoric caves of Los Morrillos, which feature cave paintings that are 8500 years old. These artworks include representations of the sun, animals, and abstract figures, each sparking various interpretations. You will hear about intriguing theories surrounding them.
After visiting the caves, we will return on foot to the starting point, where a picnic featuring a typical Argentinean picada will be provided. We will then explore other notable areas of the Andes before returning to Barreal.
We will stop for a snack on the way before dropping you at your hotel at 6 pm.
