Sierra del Tontal Private Trip

At 10 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Barreal and depart in an all-terrain jeep to the Calingasta Valley, home to the Sierra del Tontal. We will follow the tracks of drivers of the Dakar Rally, passing through crucial stages of the race. Then, we will reach the mountain range area with communication antennas at over 13,000 feet.

During the trip, we will observe the unique landscapes of puna grasslands characteristic of the Andean altiplano regions. We will visit an old silver deposit, exploited during the government of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. A picnic lunch will be provided to regain strength before we start our return journey.

Along the way, we will observe points of interest within the 250 miles of mountains that form the Sierra del Tontal. Remember to bring your camera for the majestic views, especially in winter when the peaks are covered in snow.

We will take a break for a light snack in nature. Finally, we will return to your hotel in Barreal at 6 pm.
