At 10 am, pick-up will be at your hotel in Barreal. The journey begins in an all-terrain jeep towards the Calingasta Valley, home to the Sierra del Tontal, also known as the foothills of San Juan.

The route follows stages of the Dakar Rally, which occurred in South America from 2009 to 2019. The trip includes a visit to the mountain range, notable for communication antennas at an altitude of over 13,000 feet.

During the excursion, you will view the unique puna grasslands typical of the Andean altiplano regions. The itinerary also features a stop at an old silver deposit exploited during the era of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.

A picnic lunch will be provided, followed by a return journey with additional scenic viewpoints along the 250 miles of the Sierra del Tontal. A light snack will be offered midway through the trip. You will return to your hotel in Barreal by 6 pm.
