Safari Details

At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel and board a safari truck for a 40-minute journey to Higüey.

Upon arrival, we will explore the traditional market, known for its vibrant colors, for 45 minutes, visiting various fruit, vegetable, and meat stalls. Next, we will tour a cigar factory to learn about the production process.

We will continue our safari through the sugar cane plantations of Bayahibe, discussing the plant's various uses and the lifestyle of the settlements nearby, including information on the trapiche system that converts sugar cane into Dominican rum.

A typical ranch visit in the Dominican jungle will follow, where we will enjoy a lunch by the river, featuring cocoa, manioc, tropical fruits, and Dominican salami, along with a drink option of soft drink, rum, or water.

Before returning to La Romana, we will take a small boat ride along the river amid lush greenery, with an opportunity for a refreshing dip. The total duration of the trip is 8.5 hours.
