Join us to discover Brazil's exclusive and unique biome on this 2-day trip through the Caatinga in Paraíba. Hike through landscapes, see the native flora and fauna, and admire the starry sky while camping!

Tour Details

Day 1

We will pick you up from your hotel in João Pessoa to begin the journey through the Caatinga. After a 112-mile (180-kilometer) drive, we’ll stop at the Archeological Complex of Pedra do Altar in Barra de Santana and prepare for a 0.9-mile (1.5-kilometer) hike to the Paraíba River.

On the way, we’ll visit archeological sites of the Tapuia indigenous people and see calderas, natural pools, and waterfalls. After lunch at the complex’s restaurant, we'll visit Lajedo do Marinho known for its rock formations. We will camp overnight at a site with tents, enjoying a bonfire and the starry sky.

Day 2

After an energizing breakfast, we’ll embark on a 3.1-mile (5-kilometer) hike along the Trilha de Antonio Conselheiro, exploring rock formations and landmarks like Lajedo dos Esquecidos and Trono de Deus. After the hike, we will have lunch before packing up camp and returning to João Pessoa.

We expect to arrive at your hotel in João Pessoa around 6:30 p.m.

Accommodation Info

This tour includes an overnight stay at a campsite with tents, mattresses, and bedding. Facilities include bathrooms, electricity, internet, refrigerators, and hammocks for comfort.
