Visit one of the symbolic jewels of Normandy with this Mont Saint Michel Full Day Tour from Bayeux.
Description
At 8:30 am, we'll meet at Place Québec in Bayeux to depart by minibus for the south of Normandy.
After a 90-minute drive, you'll arrive at Mont-Saint-Michel, the second most visited place in France after Paris. This island-rock is located at the mouth of the Couesnon River, near the border between Normandy and Brittany.
The tour will begin with a visit to the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey. Here, we'll admire the Romanesque architecture of the abbey church and the Marvelle, where the monks lived.
During the tour of the cloister, refectory, and other parts of the monument, we will discuss the secrets and legends of Mont-Saint-Michel. These stories have inspired films and literary works, including the novel The Angel's Promise, and the abbey is known for its many mysteries.
You will have 1 hour of free time around Mont-Saint-Michel for lunch and exploring the village at the foot of the abbey. Climbing to the viewpoints is recommended for excellent panoramic views of the bay.
Finally, we will regroup to return to Bayeux, arriving at 4:30 pm.
