Normandy Landing Beaches D-Day Tour
In Normandy, France, on 6 June 1944, D-Day commenced. We will depart from Place Québec in Bayeux to learn about the Normandy Landings. Our first stop will be the village of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, where American paratroopers landed. Next, we will visit Utah Beach, where troops landed as part of the military operations. From Pointe du Hoc, we will have views of the landing beaches.
After 1 hour for lunch, we will proceed to Omaha Beach to explore how amphibious vehicles accessed the beach and discuss key events of World War II. We'll also recall scenes from the film Saving Private Ryan. Our final stop is Colleville-sur-Mer, home to the Normandy American Cemetery. You will have 45 minutes to explore the cemetery and its Visitor Centre, honoring soldiers who died during the battle. The tour concludes with a return to Bayeux, 8 hours after departure.
