Vila Sítio São João Day Trip

On this day trip to Vila Sítio São João, we'll visit a replica of a traditional village in the northeast of Brazil, experiencing the 19th century.

Tour Details

We will pick you up at your hotel in João Pessoa and travel to Campina Grande, home to Vila Sítio São João. The trip will be on a themed vehicle accompanied by a guide in traditional matuto costume.

After a 1.5-hour drive, we will arrive at Vila Sítio São João, an open-air museum showcasing the daily life of a 19th-century village in northeastern Brazil. It features mud houses, a wine cellar, mills, a blacksmith's workshop, a bookshop, and more.

The main square, where the parish church is located, serves as the village's center for gatherings and important events. We will enter the buildings to explore their historical significance and take photos.

Visitors can taste typical dishes like carne do sol and baião de dois. The experience includes listening to forró, a traditional music genre recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Brazil since 2021.

We will return to João Pessoa, concluding the tour at your hotel approximately 10 hours after pickup.
