French Basque Country: Bayonne Food Tour

Join this food tour through Bayonne to experience the traditional gastronomy of the French Basque Country. Meet us at the central Place de la Liberté at the specified time to begin the tour.

The tour includes a walk through Bayonne, where we will visit the Les Halles Market to sample various fish and seafood products paired with a glass of wine. We will also pass by the St. Mary Cathedral during our walk.

Next, we will stop at the oldest trinquets (Basque ball courts) in France, which features a restaurant. Here, we will taste a selection of local tapas and cured meats, again with a glass of wine, while discussing the traditional game that is still popular.

Later, we will visit a traditional Basque cider house to taste goat's cheese with quince jam and enjoy a glass of traditional Basque cider, known as Sagarnoa, which we will pour ourselves from the barrel.
