French Basque Country: Bayonne Food Tour

Meet us at the central Place de la Liberté at the indicated time for a food tour through Bayonne.

After a brief introduction, we will stroll through the city, known for its traditional gastronomy. Our first stop will be Les Halles Market to sample fish and seafood products with a glass of wine. On the way, we will pass by St. Mary Cathedral.

Next, we will visit the oldest trinquets (Basque ball courts) in France, where we will sample local tapas and cured meats along with a glass of wine while discussing this traditional game.

We will then head to a traditional Basque cider house to taste goat's cheese with quince jam and enjoy Sagarnoa, pouring it directly from the barrel.

Finally, we will visit one of Bayonne's best bakeries for a traditional Basque cake and a freshly roasted espresso in the historic center, concluding our 3.5-hour food tour through Bayonne.
