Are you ready to explore the ancient history of Lebanon, starting in Beirut and heading to its surrounding towns? With this tour of Byblos, Batron and the Nabu museum, you'll be blown away by the country's incredible history.

Byblos, Batroun and Nabu Museum Day Trip

Pickup from your hotel in Beirut begins at 8:30 am. We will drive to the Nabu Museum in Chekka, approximately one hour away. The museum features an exceptional collection of artifacts from the Bronze and Iron Ages as well as contemporary artworks from Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and the region.

A walking tour of the coastal town of Batroun will follow. Batroun was a significant city and port during the Phoenician era (3000 - 64 BC). During this time, we will visit Batroun's harbour and souk. The city is believed to be the 'Batruna' mentioned in the 14 BC Tal el-Amarna tablets of Egypt. We will also see the 225m high Phoenician wall crafted into nearby beach rocks over 2,000 years ago.

Afterward, we will enjoy traditional Lebanese food at a local restaurant before heading to Byblos, which is a contender for the title of oldest continuously inhabited city. You'll visit the castle and have free time to explore the medieval quarter, including the old souks (markets), medieval ramparts, and churches.

Walk through the 19th-century souk showcasing sandstone arches and vaults, visit the 100-year old Saint Stephan Cathedral, the Lady of the Sea Chapel (Saydetel-Bahr), the remains of the ancient Roman theater, and the Roman stadium sculpted in the rocks of MrahEl Cheikh.

After a full day, we will return to Beirut for a drop-off at your hotel by 5:30 pm.
