Byblos & Monastery of Saint Maron

Pick-up from your hotel in Beirut is at 8:30 am, followed by a drive to the Monastery of Saint Maron in northern Lebanon. The journey takes approximately an hour and a half, mostly along the Lebanese coastline.

This rock-carved monastery at around 1200 metres altitude in the Jbeil region is known as the Cave of the Monks and houses the tomb of Saint Charbel, a significant pilgrimage site.

Next, we will visit the monastery of St. Joseph, home to the tomb of St. Rafqa, a Lebanese Maronite nun beatified in 1985. The tour continues to Kfifan, specifically at the monastery of St. Hardini, where the tomb of the Maronite saint Nimatullah Al-Hardini is located.

At 3 pm, enjoy a delicious Lebanese meal at a local restaurant before heading to Byblos, one of the oldest cities worldwide.

In Byblos, visit the Roman amphitheatre, the temple of the obelisks, and various tombs of Phoenician kings while learning about this historically significant enclave.

Finally, you will have one hour of free time to explore the streets of Byblos and its craft market. We will return to Beirut around 6 pm.
