Belfast Political Tour
Imagine yourself in Belfast during the 20th century, where violence led to military control of the streets. You have the choice to side with either the Republicans or the Loyalists. A republican ex-prisoner will welcome you at the starting point. The tour will walk along Falls Road, showcasing walls honoring the bloody conflict. The guide will share personal stories amidst almost 2000 representations of peace and liberty, including iconic figures like Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela depicted in the murals.
In the second part of the tour, a loyalist ex-prisoner will discuss the conflict's repercussions on their side. The group will pass through gates dividing the factions and travel down Shankill Road, listening to local residents who wish to remain part of the United Kingdom.
You can leave your dedication on the Wall of Peace, as notable figures like Bill Clinton and the Dalai Lama have done. The tour concludes in Lower Shankill Road after 3 hours.
