Manasija Monastery, Resava Cave & Lisine Waterfalls

Description

The tour begins with hotel pickup at a designated time, followed by a scenic drive through rolling green hills. The first stop is the medieval Manasija monastery complex located in the Resava Gorge.

Upon arrival, visitors will explore the impressive towers of the monastery, built in the 15th century. The tour includes insights into the treasures hidden within its walls and the history of its construction and reconstruction. Despite its tumultuous past, visitors can appreciate preserved floor mosaics, wall frescoes, and original architectural features, showcasing Serbian medieval architecture and art.

Next, the tour proceeds to Resava Cave, an extensive underground system covering over 11 hectares. The cave tour features various natural galleries and a diverse range of stalactites and stalagmites.

The excursion continues to Lisine Waterfalls, standing over 25 meters tall, where participants will have two hours of free time to explore and enjoy local cuisine for lunch at nearby food stalls.

At the day's end, the group returns to Belgrade, with drop-off at hotels around 4:30 pm.
