Nature, culture, and history: discover the wonders of northern Serbia on this day trip to Fruška Gora and the towns of Sremski Karlovci and Novi Sad from Belgrade.
Tour Details
We will pick you up from your hotel in Belgrade in the morning and set off to the Vojvodina region of northern Serbia, passing the scenic Pannonian plain.
After approximately one hour, our first stop will be Fruška Gora, a national park known for its beautiful mountains. We will visit the Krušedol Monastery, a notable medieval Orthodox site associated with the Brankovi? family.
Next, we will head to Sremski Karlovci, a town recognized as a cultural and spiritual center of Serbia. We will explore its historic center, observing Baroque architecture and landmarks such as the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the Patriarchate Court. A visit to a local wine shop for a tasting of the regional wine, Bermet, will also take place.
Following this, we will proceed to Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia located on the Danube. Here, we will visit the Petrovaradin Fortress, an 18th-century military architecture example, often called the "Gibraltar of the Danube." We will explore the historic center of Novi Sad, noting its rich cultural diversity. Novi Sad was designated as the European Capital of Culture for 2021.
After lunch in Novi Sad (not included), we will return to the meeting point in Belgrade, concluding this 8-hour excursion.
