Ticket to Belmonte Castle

Located on the hill of San Cristobal, Belmonte Castle is one of the most important fortresses of the province of Cuenca.

This ticket allows you to download an audio guide in English on your mobile phone, providing commentary on the castle's history and its 15th-century structure. Notably, the castle regained its splendour in the 19th century due to reforms by Eugénie de Montijo, wife of Emperor Napoleon III.

Your ticket includes access to both the Patio de Armas and the walled enclosure, featuring the parapet and towers. You may also climb a watchtower for panoramic views. Additionally, access to outbuildings like the empress' bedroom, the dais, and the armoury room, which houses medieval armour, is included.

Opening Times

The opening times of Belmonte Castle are as follows:

From February 27 to April 21: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm. Mondays on March 25 and April 1 will follow regular hours.From April 23 to September 22: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. In August, it will open Mondays from 10 am to 2:30 pm and from 4 pm to 8:30 pm.June 22 and 29, and July 13 and 20: closed evenings, open from 10 am to 2 pm.From September 24 to January 6, 2025: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.From January 7 to March 4, 2025: Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 2 pm; Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Final admission is 45 minutes before closing. Hours are subject to change.

Special Times

Easter Week: the castle will be open from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm.

On December 24, the castle will open from 10 am to 2 pm and will be closed from December 25 until January 1.
