Maestrazgo Mining Park & Culla Day Trip

Join our Maestrazgo Mining Park & Culla Day Trip from Benicassim. The trip includes visits to two historic mines and the village of Culla in Castellón.

We will meet at 8:55 am next to the Benicassim Tourist Office to travel to the Maestrazgo Mining Park by minibus. The park features a network of underground galleries at a depth of 2,600 feet (800 meters) and offers views of the Upper Maestrazgo region.

The tour will last 2 hours, focusing on the Victoria and Esperanza mines. Participants will board a train to the Victoria mine entrance, where safety helmets will be provided for the exploration of the underground areas.

During the visit, an expert guide will answer questions about historical mining practices, tools used, and minerals extracted. Guests will see original mining carts, tools, and geological formations up close.

After visiting the Victoria mine, the group will take the train to the Esperanza mine to learn about its natural resources and the miners' work.

Following the mines, we will travel to Culla to explore the Temple Route, which connects nature and history. The tour of the old quarter, recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest, includes notable sites such as the 11th-century castle and the old hospital.

The tour will conclude with a return to Benicassim, arriving at approximately 1:40 pm.
