St. Joseph's Caves Trip

At the designated time, we'll meet in front of the Benicassim Tourist Office. From there we'll travel 50 kilometers by minibus to Vall de Uxó, where the St. Joseph's Caves, or Coves de Sant Josep, are located. This grotto is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We'll start our visit by boat, cruising 800 meters down the underground river while observing the caves. Look for paintings on the rocks and fossils, evidence of the caves' inhabitants over 15,000 years ago.

Continuing on foot, we'll walk through a 250-meter dry section of the caves, examining the stalactites and stalagmites. Notably, the caves maintain a temperature of 20ºC year-round.

After 40 minutes of exploration, we'll return to the minibus and head back to Benicassim, concluding our 4-hour and 45-minute tour.
