Caminhos de Pedra Tour
Our adventure kicks off at 9 am at Rua Duque de Caxias in Bento Gonçalves. Are you curious about the origin of this intriguing name? Together we will uncover the story behind it!
This scenic pathway serves as a true open-air museum that narrates the rich history of Italian immigration in Brazil. You will be exposed to fascinating insights! Throughout the journey, we'll explore how Italian traditions seamlessly integrated with local customs, particularly in the realms of cattle farming and wine production.
Our first stop is Parque da Ovelha, where we will delve into the care and nurturing of sheep. Following this, we will head to the historic Cantina Strapazzon, established in the late 19th century. Here, we'll immerse ourselves in the local winemaking heritage. Interestingly, this venue has also featured in various films, including the 1995 Brazilian movie O Quatrilho.
Our excursion will culminate with a visit to Casa Bertarello, a stone structure that originally provided shelter for the area’s early immigrants.
After this enriching experience, we will make our way back to Bento Gonçalves by bus, arriving at our starting point around 1 pm.
