Do you want to learn about the traditions of the Brazilian wine capital? On this activity, we'll take a ride on the famous Maria Fumaça train and take part in the grape harvest at a wine estate.

Maria Fumaça Train + Vineyard Harvest Tour

At 9 am, we'll meet at the train station to begin this experience in Bento Gonçalves, known as the Brazilian wine capital.

The tour starts with a ride on the Maria Fumaça train, or wine train, through the Serra Gaucha landscapes, passing scenic villages like Carlos Barbosa and Garibaldi, while tasting local wines, champagnes, and grape juices. The journey includes live music performances at stops.

Next, we will visit the Epopeia Italiana theme park to learn about the traditions of Italian immigrants. Following that, we will go to a family-owned wine estate for the grape harvest, where we will pick grapes and tread the grapes, continuing the Italian winemaking tradition. This event is a community celebration and you'll witness the locals cheering.

After the harvest, we will enjoy a traditional Italian appetizer, the merendim, accompanied by traditional music.

The experience concludes with our return to Bento Gonçalves station, arriving around 4 pm.
