Discover Berlin beyond the popular monuments, and get to know how life is lived in some of the most unusual districts of the capital. This tour is a perfect complement to the Berlin guided tour.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet in front of the Academy of Arts at Pariser Platz for a guided tour around Berlin's alternative side!
We'll walk along the iconic Oranienburger Straße, where the Jewish population lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and stop at the art nouveau courtyard complex of Hackesche Höfe.
Next, we'll visit the multicultural neighbourhood of Kotti, known for punk bars, hip clubs, and halal restaurants, and recognized as the birthplace of Turkish hip hop.
The tour will continue to Kreuzberg to see the Astronaut Cosmonaut graffiti by Victor Ash, then explore Oranienstraße, a popular destination for young people. We will walk along Bethaniendamm before arriving at the Baumhaus, a sustainable space in the capital.
The Kopi neighbourhood is also included in our tour, showcasing punk culture, anarchism, and Marxism. We will visit the Yaam market for African food stalls and possibly enjoy a reggae concert.
Finally, we'll conclude our 3-hour tour by admiring over 100 murals in the East Side Gallery.
