On this day trip to Potsdam and Sachsenhausen, we'll visit these two historic places in Germany in one day, unmissable if you're in Berlin!
Day Trip to Potsdam and Sachsenhausen
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Brunnen der Völkerfreundschaft fountain in Alexanderplatz. There, we'll board a bus for our excursion from Berlin.
First, we will go on a panoramic tour of the most important monuments of the German capital. Then, we will proceed to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
During our visit, we'll take a guided tour to learn about the history of Nazi concentration camps. We'll see the courtyards, barracks, and cells, and learn about the work distribution and punishments imposed on prisoners.
After this, we'll head to Potsdam, a World Heritage Site, for a guided tour to admire the exterior of Sanssouci Palace and its park. Afterward, we will have one hour of free time for lunch.
Lastly, we'll return to Berlin, arriving back at the starting point after a total of 7 hours.
Sachsenhausen Day Trip
If you want to visit the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, this tour option is available.
We’ll depart from central Berlin in a comfortable bus and head to Sachsenhausen, where a 2-hour guided tour will provide insight into its history. Key sites include the central courtyard, Tower A, barracks 38 and 39, the kitchen, Tower E, the prison, and the gas chamber.
Additionally, we'll visit the East Side Gallery for a panoramic view of its famous graffiti, such as "The Kiss", concluding the activity after a total of 4.5 hours.
