Why visit the DDR Museum?

The DDR Museum is located close to the Berlin Cathedral and reviews the history of the German Democratic Republic in an interactive way. The museum presents a 'hands-on experience of history,' inviting visitors to open drawers and cabinets and interact with various historical objects to better understand the culture and everyday life during the time of the German Democratic Republic. You will learn about the Berlin Wall's erection, which isolated the GDR from Western Europe, and how the Stasi monitored and transmitted confidential information to the Soviet KGB as you explore the different rooms of the exhibition.

Opening hours

The DDR Museum is open Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm, except on December 24 and 31, when it closes at 4 pm.
