On this day trip to Potsdam and Sachsenhausen, we'll visit these two important sites in Germany in one day, essential for those in Berlin.
Day Trip to Potsdam and Sachsenhausen
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Brunnen der Völkerfreundschaft fountain in Alexanderplatz. We will board a bus and begin our excursion from Berlin. First, we will go on a panoramic tour of the key monuments of the German capital. Then, we will proceed to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
At Sachsenhausen, we will take a guided tour to learn about the history of German concentration camps during Nazi rule, visiting the courtyards, barracks, and cells, and understanding the allocation of work and punishments for prisoners.
After Sachsenhausen, we will head to Potsdam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will take a guided tour of the city and view the exterior of Sanssouci Palace and its park. Following this, there will be an hour of free time for lunch.
We will return to Berlin, concluding the tour after a total of 7 hours.
Sachsenhausen Day Trip
If you prefer to visit only the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, this tour option is available.
We will depart from central Berlin in a comfortable bus to Sachsenhausen, where a 2-hour guided tour will provide insights into its history. Key sites include the central courtyard, Tower A, barracks 38 and 39, the kitchen, Tower E, the prison, and the gas chamber.
Additionally, we will visit the East Side Gallery for a view of its famous graffiti, including "The Kiss," concluding the activity after a total of 4.5 hours.
