Rappelling at Sima del Cielo

We'll pick you up at 7 am at your hotel in Tuxtla Gutiérrez and drive to the town of San Fernando, located just half an hour away.

Once we arrive, we'll have breakfast which includes assorted sandwiches, yogurt, fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Then, the instructor will provide some simple safety guidelines and we'll get equipped with helmets, harnesses, and other necessary materials.

Afterward, we will embark on a 1-hour hike to the Sima del Cielo, a natural hole at a height of 35 meters (115 feet) with a diameter of 30 meters (98 feet). At its base, it spans 100 meters (328 feet) wide.

This is where our Sima del Cielo rappelling activity begins. During our descent, we will learn about the geology of this unique cave. It is a notable place in the state of Chiapas.

After the rappelling activity, we'll walk for an hour back to San Fernando. From there, we'll return to your hotel in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, arriving at 4 pm.
