Escape from Tuxtla Gutierrez for a day to discover one of Chiapas' spectacular natural landmarks: the Sumidero Canyon and the colonial town of Chiapa de Corzo.
Tour Details
Pick up from your hotel will commence the journey to the Sumidero Canyon. After a short drive, participants will board a boat for a two-hour tour of this natural wonder.
During the boat tour of Sumidero Canyon, the boat will navigate between the canyon's sheer rock walls, approximately 1,000 meters high. Participants will observe the area's lush vegetation and wildlife, with opportunities to spot crocodiles, spider monkeys, and pelicans.
Following the boat trip, the tour will head to Chiapa de Corzo, the first colonial city founded by the Spaniards in 1528, where participants will learn about its history and see key landmarks, including a 16th-century Mudejar-style fountain and the ex-Convent of Santo Domingo.
Participants will then have an hour of free time for lunch before visiting the Sumidero Canyon viewpoints for a different perspective of the gorge.
The excursion concludes with the return to Tuxtla Gutierrez, totaling 8 hours.
