At the indicated time, we will meet at the Berthier-sur-Mer Marina. There, we will board a boat and sail on the St-Lawrence River towards Grosse-île.

Upon arrival, you will meet your Parc Canada certified tour guide. Grosse Island served as a former quarantine station for immigrants arriving from Ireland, where they were disinfected before entering the mainland.

More than 7000 immigrants died on this island due to poor sanitary conditions. As you explore its streets, you will gain insight into the lives of those who lived here. The tour includes visits to the church, lighthouse, cemetery, and the lazaretto, a significant site related to the disinfection process.

After uncovering the dark history of Grosse Island, we will return to the meeting point to conclude the day trip.
