At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Berthier-sur-Mer Marina. There, we'll board a boat and sail on the St-Lawrence River towards Grosse-île.

Upon arrival, you'll meet your Parc Canada certified tour guide. Grosse Island was a former quarantine station for immigrants arriving from Ireland, where they were disinfected before entering the mainland.

More than 7000 immigrants died on this island due to poor sanitary conditions. As you stroll through the streets, you can learn about life for those who lived here in the past. You can visit the church, the lighthouse, the cemetery, and the lazaretto, one of the most significant locations on the island, where you will understand the disinfection process conducted by the toilets.

After discovering the dark history of Grosse Island, we'll sail back to the meeting point to end the day trip.
