Excursión a Getxo y Portugalete

On this tour to Getxo and Portugalete from Bilbao, you'll cross the Bizkaia Suspension Bridge and walk along both the left and right banks of the Nervión estuary.

Description

At the designated time, meet at the puppy floral sculpture at the Guggenheim Museum, the starting point for our northbound journey from Bilbao.

The first destination is the viewpoint at Punta Galea, offering views of the Bizkaia coast.

Next, we will explore Getxo, starting in the Las Arenas neighborhood and passing by the Lezama-Leguizamón Palace before reaching the Old Port of Algorta.

We will then cross the Bizkaia Suspension Bridge from Getxo while using an audio guide to learn about its history.

The next stop is Portugalete, located on the left bank of the Nervion estuary. We will briefly explore its streets, which are part of the Camino de Santiago, before visiting the Hanging Bridge of Bizkaia, a World Heritage Site built in the late 19th century to link both sides of the estuary.

The return to Bilbao concludes the tour, with an estimated arrival at the meeting point four hours after the initial pickup.
