Day Trip Details

Meet at the centre of Bilbao, next to the Guggenheim Museum, for a trip to the wine-producing regions of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The tour begins with a visit to Haro, the wine capital of Rioja.

We will first visit the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, where we will explore the barrel room designed by Gustave Eiffel and the underground cellars. The visit includes a wine tasting.

After the winery, we will explore the old town of Haro, an Asset of Cultural Interest since 1975, passing by the Bendaña Palace, the palace of the Counts of Haro, the town hall, and Plaza de la Paz Square.

Next, we will head to the medieval village of Laguardia, walking through its cobblestone streets and entering a traditional winery to learn about the wine-producing process and taste some products.

You will have free time in Laguardia for lunch. After that, we will return to Bilbao, stopping at Elciego to admire the Marqués de Riscal Winery building. The tour concludes back at the starting point after 8 hours.
