On this trip to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and Mundaka, we'll depart from Bilbao to visit the Game of Thrones' Dragonstone and explore a historic town known for its surfing.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the puppy floral sculpture at the Guggenheim Museum before heading north.

After about 30 minutes, we'll reach San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, recognized as Dragonstone by fans. We will ascend 241 steps to the 10th-century hermitage atop this 79 metre rock.

From the hermitage viewpoint, we’ll enjoy views of the Bizkaia coastline. Then, we will proceed past Cape Matxitxako and the town of Bermeo.

Next, we’ll stop in Mundaka, a fishing town known for surfing, to stroll towards the harbour and the Church of Santa María. We’ll also visit the Urdaibai Estuary viewpoint for river-to-sea views.

Then, we’ll visit Guernica to learn about the Basque Country's history, including the town’s bombing during the Spanish Civil War and a mural of a Picasso painting.

We will then return to Bilbao, arriving back at the meeting point after about 6 hours.
