Vitoria Day Trip

We will pick you up at the meeting point and depart from Bilbao towards Vitoria-Gasteiz, arriving in approximately one hour. The guided walking tour of the historic center of Vitoria includes visits to Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, the Basque Parliament, and the Cathedral of Santa María, known for its medieval architecture.

After the city tour, we will head to the Añana Salt Flats in the "Salt Valley" to explore salt production methods that date back to the Middle Ages, marking it as a significant salt mine on the Iberian Peninsula. Next, we will visit Orduña to learn about its uniqueness in Álava.

We will cross the scenic Ayala Valley and have lunch in Balmaseda. Post-lunch, we will visit the industrial area of Portugalete and cross the Bilbao estuary via the Vizcaya Suspension Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the first footbridges globally, inaugurated in the late 19th century.

On the other side of the estuary, in the district of Las Arenas, we will return to Bilbao around 5 PM.
