Activity Details

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your hotel in Bishkek. After meeting, we will board a spacious minibus for a scenic 2.5-hour drive to the Konorchek Canyon.

Upon arrival, we will embark on an 8 km (4.9 mi) hiking trail that will take around 3 hours to complete, guiding us through this breathtaking landscape. As we set off, the path will lead us through twisting terrain, with towering reddish cliffs soaring around us. The route will meander between narrow rock faces, offering opportunities to admire the unique formations created over time.

When it’s time to recharge, we will take a break at an ideal spot, where we’ll enjoy a delightful picnic. The meal includes a variety of options such as meat, chicken, or fish, along with fried eggs, fresh vegetables or salad, bread, a chocolate treat, fruit, and juice.

Rejuvenated, we will carry on to explore the remarkable geological features of Konorchek, shaped over millennia. Did you know this area harbors the remnants of the ancient Segizkhan-Shokny volcano? This extraordinary geological feature is a true rarity in Central Asia. The remains of this extinct volcano, still visible today, provide a fascinating glimpse into the region’s volcanic history. You will also encounter fossilized shells, remnants from a time when this area was submerged underwater. Quite astonishing, isn’t it?

Following this enriching exploration, we will return to our starting point. Afterwards, we will travel back to your hotel, concluding our day after a rewarding total of 10 hours.

The hiking trail presents a moderate level of difficulty, characterized by diverse and occasionally steep terrain. The majority of the walk will take place on dirt and sandy paths, featuring some moderate inclines. To fully enjoy this experience, it is advisable to be in good physical condition and to wear appropriate footwear suited for such conditions.
