Rupit and Besalú Day Trip

Travel to the heart of Gerona and see two of the area's most beautiful medieval towns. You'll visit Rupit and Besalú, exploring their cobbled streets and learning about their interesting history.

Rupit and Besalú Day Trip

The tour meets at the Blanes Bus Station. From here we'll begin our journey to Rupit, a village with a history dating back to the 11th Century.

After about an hour and a half, we'll arrive at Rupit, where you'll have free time to explore the area. You can wander through its narrow streets full of stone houses. Visitors are encouraged to cross its famous hanging bridge for scenic views of the surrounding landscape. A typical Catalonian lunch will be provided before continuing the excursion.

Next, we will visit the Santuario de la Mare de Déu del Far, a church located over 1,000 metres above sea level. A guide will provide insights into the chapel's history.

Finally, we'll arrive at Besalú, where we will see its bridge, Jewish baths, San Pedro de Besalú and San Julián monastery and its church, as well as the old pilgrim's hospital before heading back.

The tour will conclude back at the starting point after a total of 9.5 hours.
