Travel to the heart of Gerona and see two of the area's medieval towns: Rupit and Besalú, exploring their streets and history.
Rupit and Besalú Day Trip
The tour departs from the Blanes Bus Station. We begin our journey to Rupit, known for its historical significance since the 11th Century.
After approximately an hour and a half, we will arrive at Rupit, allowing free time for exploration. Visitors can walk through its narrow, cobbled streets characterized by stone houses representative of a medieval city.
A highlight is crossing the famous hanging bridge, offering views of the surrounding natural scenery. A complete, typical Catalan lunch will be provided before continuing the tour.
Next, we head to the Santuario de la Mare de Déu del Far, a church located over 1,000 meters above sea level. Here, a guide will share insights into the chapel's history.
Lastly, we will visit Besalú, another medieval town, where we will see its bridge, Jewish baths, San Pedro de Besalú monastery, and the old pilgrim's hospital. The tour concludes back at the departure point after a total duration of 9.5 hours.
